Dance B.A. Learning Outcomes

  1. Recognize and perform the vocabulary of several dance genres.
  2. Apply the principles of dance choreography to their own creative process.
  3. Demonstrate an introductory level understanding of music notation, the Labanotation system of recording dance, and the principles of Laban Movement Studies.
  4. Apply the science of human kinesiology to dance.
  5. Recognize major figures in the history of dance, classify different dance genres, and distinguish between historical eras of dance.
  6. Write about dance, describing, interpreting, evaluating and contextualizing dance performance and practice.
